This antique brooch is made of 14k gold, adorned with no less than 34 beautiful rose-cut diamonds. The brooch features a central flower flanked by petals. In the past, the central flower was likely fitted with a spring so that the petals were 'En Tremblant'. En tremblant is a French term meaning "to tremble". The term was first used to describe 18th and 19th-century Victorian jewelry, where parts of diamond-set pieces were attached to a trembler (a material that acts like a spring, such as a thin metal wire) to create movement in the jewelry when worn. Jewelry set in this way was particularly effective at reflecting sparkling candlelight. The spring is no longer present, but the flower still moves due to its setting. Watch the videos to see the brooch in action! There are some solder points visible on the back (repairs). Rose-cut diamonds were invented in the 15th century and became popular during the Georgian period (the 18th century). Because rose-cut diamonds were originally created to sparkle by candlelight, they are a romantic, ethereal stone. Please note: Diamonds were historically set on foil to enhance their sparkle. If you place your order Monday through Friday before 3:00 PM, your order will be shipped the same day. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout and are free within the Netherlands for orders over €175. Within the Netherlands, we ship your jewelry with PostNL. For all other countries, we ship with UPS, FedEx, or DHL. Please contact us if you prefer a courier!
Is your purchase not quite to your liking? You always have a 14-day cooling-off period after receiving your jewelry. The jewelry must be in the same condition as when you received it. Return shipping is at your expense.
