All our jewelry is made of solid gold, yet it remains sensitive to external influences. Jewelry can become somewhat dull after wearing it for a while, and the stones can lose their brilliance. We'd like to offer some advice to keep your jewelry beautiful for as long as possible, so you can enjoy it for generations to come! We also recommend having your jewelry checked and cleaned annually by an experienced goldsmith. They will immediately assess whether the setting is still in good condition and the stones are still firmly in place.
- Avoid direct contact with perfume, shampoo, body lotion, makeup, or other chemicals . If contact does occur, rinse your jewelry with warm water and dry it with a soft, dry cloth.
Remove your jewelry before going to sleep . Gold jewelry wears out less quickly if you remove it before bed. While sleeping, a lot of friction occurs on the jewelry, causing it to wear out faster than if you weren't wearing it while sleeping.
Remove your jewelry when showering, swimming, or exercising. Exercising can damage your gold jewelry, but frequent sweating also makes it get dirty faster and corrodes the gold. Swimming is not recommended because pool water often contains chlorine, which corrodes your gold jewelry and causes it to tarnish or wear out faster. The same applies to showering; it's better to remove your jewelry. Soaps and shampoos often contain harsh degreasing agents that can damage your jewelry.
Clean your gold jewelry regularly. Polishing it with a special gold polishing cloth will restore its beautiful shine. You can also clean your jewelry with an old (clean) toothbrush, for example. Skin oils and dust can cause your jewelry, especially if you wear it daily, to become dirty, which can affect its appearance.
Proper care is half the battle. In general, we therefore recommend removing your jewelry when exercising, gardening, or performing strenuous physical work.
